Network Engineer

Your profile:

• Extensive knowledge and experience with:
o Design, installation, configuration and administration of network infrastructure for optimal performance, reliability and security
o Supporting the administration of server clusters and storage infrastructure (SAN and related technologies)
o Performing troubleshooting analysis of servers, workstations and associated systems
o Documenting network problems and resolution for future reference
o Managing user accounts, permissions, anti-virus, anti-spam
o Providing training and technical support for users with varying levels of IT knowledge and competence
o Supervising other staff, such as help desk technicians
o Experience with healthcare IT systems (PACS, RIS, clinical archive, etc) and/or related technologies (DICOM, HL7, CDA, …) is a major assetb

• Technical skills related to networks:
o Thorough understanding of network protocols, network modeling and network security
o Technical assesment of network infrastructure components and products
o In depth knowledge and hands-on experience with common network technologies such as VLAN, NAT-translation, subnetting, Virtual IP, VPN, QoS & traffic shaping
o Knowledge and experience with intrusion Prevention and Detection systems
o Experience with network security compliance and best practices (ISO, ITIL, ..)
o In dept knowledge of configuring and troubleshooting VPN connections (IPSec and SSL)
o Understanding of storage infrastructure (SAN and related technologies) and related communication protocols (iSCSI, FCoE, …)
o Familiar with common network systems and products (Cisco, Novell, Juniper, etc.)

• Technical skills related to other technologies:
o In depth knowledge and hands-on experience with various operating systems (Unix, Linux, Sun Solaris, Windows, Mac OS X)
o Fluent use of Windows Command Scripting and Unix Shell Scripting are a must
o Basic knowledge of SQL, XML, JAVA, .NET, are a must
o Knowledge of healthcare IT systems (PACS, RIS, Clinical archive, etc) and/or related technologies (DICOM, HL7, CDA, …) are a major asset
o Other additional assets would be
? Knowledge or hands-on experience with Web technologies on the application layer (Apache, JBOSS, Tomcat, …)
? Knowledge of programming/markup laguages such as C/C++ , Vbscript, JavaScript, HTML/DHTML, ..
? Any experience with cloud computing
